Occupancy & profit FAQs
How is occupancy rate calculated?
Occupancy rate is occupied beds divided by total beds, as a percentage. For example, 42 of 50 beds filled is 84% occupancy.
What is break-even occupancy?
It’s the share of your beds you must keep filled just to cover your monthly running cost. Below it you lose money; above it you profit. Lower is safer.
What should I include in monthly running cost?
Everything you spend to run the property each month — building rent or EMI, staff salaries, utilities, food/mess, maintenance and internet. Leave it blank to see only revenue and vacancy loss.
